Circle JoggingCircle Jogging: You could choose to start the class with jogging. You can have them just jog, or you can have them carry out exercises on your command. Ie, 1 for pushups, 2 for situps, 3 for toasters, etc. You can also have them do exercises while they’re running, such as jumping jacks, high knees,criss-cross steps,running backwards,etc.Cycle Running:Cycle running is showing potential to train muscles used for quick response as well as endurance. To use this warm up, you can incorporate the circle method above having the students walk at a relaxed but quick pace around the dojang (approx 3-3.5 mph), and for 10-15 seconds cycle in a fast run. Then go back down to the brisk walk. Cycle these 30-45 seconds for walking and 10-15 seconds for the running. Performing this exercise for 8-10 minutes will have increased the heart rate, and provided endurance as well as fast response benefit. Using an audible noise either by voice or whistle to change from one to the other prevents the students from knowing when they are switching up. This is helpful because they must respond to the change.
